I met high school friend at "Arc de Triomphe" ~ pour the guy, he had to wake up early to keep up with our travel plans.
There weather was with me that day, a little bit of gloomy in the morning when we got to "Arc de Triomphe".
Arc de Triomphe is designed based on the Arch of Titus in Rome and is much higher and bigger in compare with the one in Rome. From there you will have a great view of La Defense, the Champs-Elysées and the Sacré-Coeur.
From there the three of us went all the way to Grande Arche de la Défense 20th century version of the Arc de Triomphe. It's really modern represented of Paris, the new architecture site.
We had lunch at la Défense before heading over to Sacré-Coeur on Montmartre hill in the afternoon.
By then the gloomy sky was already gone and yes we got blue sky in the winter.
We took a little detour to Place du Tertre, a charming the cobblestone square behind Sacré Coeur, it is the heart of the city's elevated Montmartre quarter where artists setting up painting for the tourists.
We took the step beside Sacré-Coeur down hill and walked about 2 metro station to the place called Moulin Rouge. The street leads to Moulin Rouge was full of sex shops and strip clubs.I think it's due to the fact that Moulin Rouge was the 1st place to have the famous Can-Can dance to go on public.
Later on that day, we went to the famous Notre Dame. Needless to say the Church is extraordinary beautiful.
Then we took a walk to L'hotel de ville (City Hall Plaza). I didnt like the fact that they put the ice skating ring in front of it so I could have a good picture of L'hotel de ville. But i got one of the side picture of L'hotel de ville. We had ice cream in the middle of winter and departed. It was good to have a friend oversea.
